Toy Story 3 clearly quite popular, has $109 million opening weekend
Posted on June 21, 2010 | No CommentsIt's safe to say that Toy Story is still Pixar's biggest, most beloved franchise. The third movie, which Biggs inexplicably reviewed the other day—should I review the new Roots album here?— took home some $109 million at the weekend. That's Pixar's biggest opening weekend ever. The other big, animated feature of the year, Shrek Forever After, only took home $71 million its first weekend.

Yet another round of iPhone 4G pics appear
Posted on May 13, 2010 | No Comments
Apple! You're leaking! Yet more photos of your upcoming iPhone have hit the Internet after the first two leaks. What's great is that they don't show anything new, which makes us wonder how the upcoming keynote is going to play out. Maybe you could just have an open bar and pre-screen Toy Story 3. That would be fun.

Zibits: Awwwww, so cute!
Posted on February 19, 2010 | No CommentsZibits (pronounced, it seems, like “ribbits”) are tiny IR controlled robots that do two things: they move forward and spin. With these building blocks of locomotion you can do fascinating things like move forward and spin, spin and move forward, or just move forward or just spin. The possibilities, obviously, are endless. These guys cost $10 [...] -
Remember when Team Fortress 2 didn’t look like Team Fortress 2?
Posted on December 29, 2009 | No CommentsA few of you may already know that Team Fortress 2 didn't always look like Toy Story más violence, but for the unawares: it did. So, proof! A certain Curits Lassam, friend to all, found an old PC Gamer preview fromthe year two-thousand that described the game in its old, Counter-Strike-like art style. Yuck.

Toy Story 3 to hit IMAX 3D on June 18, 2010
Posted on December 18, 2009 | No CommentsBe honest, you kind of want to see Toy Story 3. I mean, even though the film doesn’t natively support IMAX 3D and will have to be remastered, it should still be amazing on the huge screens. Plus the whole cast is back: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton, Don Rickles, R. Lee Emey. Even Timothy Dalton [...] -
Disney to put an end to those pesky “paper” books
Posted on September 29, 2009 | No CommentsAs a parent I love a little one-on-one time with the son and daughter in front of a good book. What I don’t like are those crap-gasmic Disney books that float through every child’s book collection, titles like “The Jungle Book” that are basically advertisements for the movies. And what I really don’t like is [...] -

Tokyo’s Lifesize Gundam Robot Is Big Enough to Squash Your House
Posted on July 10, 2009 | No CommentsToy Story can suck it. The Japanese didn’t need computer animation to bring this toy to life. Pictured above, a lifesize Gundam robot in Tokyo stands at a gawk-worthy 59-feet tall. The robot looks even more impressive when it lights up at night (pic and video below the jump). Now all they have to do [...]
