Posted on June 23, 2010 | No Comments
Ah, iFixit, if there's anyone more adept at being the first to dissect the latest toys, I've not met them. The latest gadget on their operating table is none other than the most lusted after device in the entire world: the iPhone 4.
Yes, most people are still waiting to even touch the device, and here it is splayed open for all the world to see.

eBoy’s FixPix iPhone game is basically the greatest thing ever made
Posted on May 6, 2010 | No CommentsOkay, so this isn't out yet, but it's hard to deny that the eBoy-designed Delicious Toys-developed game FixPix is probably the best idea anyone has ever had since the wheel or sliced bread. Maybe that's a little hyperbolic, but as you know, we are huge fans of eBoy and their mind-boggling pixel art. Now the design collective's cityscapes and fantastical scenes have been turned into an iPhone app where you can piece the 3D milieus back together by tilting your phone this way and that. As we said, the title isn't available, but there's an awesome demo site where you can play around with the concept, and it's likely FixPix could see Apple approval any day now. We can barely contain ourselves. Check out a video of the game in action after the break.Continue reading eBoy's FixPix iPhone game is basically the greatest thing ever made

This Windows Phone 7 tablet concept toys with our hopes and dreams
Posted on March 18, 2010 | No Comments
Windows Phone 7 has a gorgeous interface. Everyone can agree with that. But this concept shows that it even transfers to a 8-inch slate just fine. Plus it throws in a a built-in stand, two analog joysticks and a keyboard for good measure. We like. Click through for a quick demo video.

Nooka Augmented Reality Accessorizer: Not real but it should be
Posted on February 18, 2010 | No Comments
Nooka is one of our favorite brands and these guys created a new way to try on a Nooka watch at home. By using augmented reality technologies - albeit technology that may not work quite yet - you can try on any watch just by putting on a specially coded bracelet. The system senses the position of your hand and lets the Nooka watch appear in 3D right on your wrist. It's honestly an amazing idea and someone better patent it before Trojan and Victoria's Secret get their hands on it.

Android has been graced with a new eBay application
Posted on February 17, 2010 | No CommentsThere’s nothing like finding and getting rid of junk on eBay, especially if you’re a gadget hound looking to offload last month’s toys for the latest and greatest. While it’s entirely possible to do manage your eBay account on your phone’s browser, a dedicated application would make life so much easier. The new eBay app for [...] -
Android update after next likely to be codenamed “Gingerbread”
Posted on February 9, 2010 | No CommentsAs any good Android-obsessed geek should know by now, Google’s made a tradition out of alphabetically naming their firmware builds after sweets. Android 1.5 was “Cupcake”, v1.6 was “Donut”, v2.0 is “Eclair”, while the next release will be lovingly dubbed “Froyo”. “But what comes after that?!” you say from the edge of your seat. According to [...] -
Vinyl Android figurines are the coolest things since sliced ice
Posted on February 2, 2010 | No CommentsOkay, look. I wasn’t going to post about these, because every bit of attention these things get will make it that much harder for me to acquire them before they sell out. But then this little nagging voice in my head (which sounds like a freakish cross between CrunchGear editor John Biggs and my mother) [...] -
The BigTrak poised to turn left-right-forward-left-back into your heart
Posted on January 26, 2010 | No CommentsRemember the BigTrak? It was a six-wheeled tow with built-in memory that allowed you to program various moves – forward, back, left – and then play them back. If you’re thinking to yourself “What fun is that?” then you were probably born after 1980 and expect all your toys to have native intelligence. Back when [...] -

Homestar Aqua: Sega Toys rolls out new planetarium for your bathroom (video)
Posted on January 8, 2010 | No Comments
Sega Toys' series of planetarium projection systems for home use, the so-called Homestars, is getting another update. The company has announced [JP, PDF] the so-called Homestar Aqua for the Japanese market (everyone living outside this country can pre-order the Aqua here). This version is smaller and can, as the name suggests, be used in the bathroom (it's water-resistant). And it's relatively inexpensive, too.
