Apple’s failure is your gain: User iPhone 4 reviews flood the Internet
Posted on June 23, 2010 | No CommentsWhat’s the difference between a tech pundit and some dude who likes the iPhone? Not much, actually. That’s why I’m glad to see that, thanks to Apple’s inability to release units on the right day this week – it appears FedEx didn’t hold the shipments and basically bombed them out like they would for everyone [...] -
Doctors learning how to operate using robots
Posted on March 3, 2010 | No Comments
You probably haven't heard about the Da Vinci surgical robot, but it's been out for a little while. I had the chance to see it last year (and even try it out a little bit) and it's an amazing piece of machinery. It's also extremely expensive and in high demand, so it's difficult for doctors to find time to train in it's use.

HTC Bravo caught on camera (again), HTC Legend caught in words
Posted on January 26, 2010 | No Comments
Man, these HTC Bravos are floating around everywhere. A semi-decent shot of this oh-so-Nexus-One-esque handset leaked just yesterday, and today another (markedly better) shot has found its way to the interwebs.
Not only that, but it brought a friend!

PSA: Double check your ‘guaranteed Christmas delivery’ online orders
Posted on December 22, 2009 | No Comments
A tale of holiday woe for your enjoyment. I just logged into my BestBuy.com account to make sure that the gift I ordered for someone on my list would indeed arrive by Christmas. It will not. Could be Best Buy’s fault, could be UPS’ fault – either way, the train went off the tracks.

Must-have: Illuminated JetBib Feeding System
Posted on November 23, 2009 | No Comments
My son never really cared if his baby food was inbound on a plane or train. That doesn't mean I won't try the same trick on my daughter. Maybe this illuminated bib and airport spoon will complete the illusion and allow me to feed her therefore making me feel like an accomplished parent.

Secure your data with encrypted USB drives
Posted on October 8, 2009 | No Comments
USB media represents a double-edged sword: on the one hand, data portability is an extremely useful thing; but on the other hand, data portability can be a gigantic liability for your business operations. You can try to train your users not to put sensitive data on USB drives, but chances are that convenience will win out over security, and your data will slip out on USB media anyway. And then it's all too easy for USB media to simply disappear: I can't count how many thumb drives I've lost. New products are coming soon to help solve this problem.

HTC: Only Android phones will rock the chin.
Posted on September 23, 2009 | No Comments
Oh, the infamous chin of many HTC Android phones - how controversial it is. At least, it's about as controversial as things get in the geeky little world of the phone-obsessed. Done one way (as with the G1), it finds itself on the wrong end of an endless train of mockery. Done almost identically on another, generally more appealing handset, and people like it so much that more than half of them get upset when it's taken away.
Either way, one things now for sure: while not all Android handsets will carry a big chin, any HTC-made handset with a chin will carry Android.

Kindle hacked to run Linux
Posted on September 2, 2009 | No Comments
BBG has a great piece on hacking the Kindle to run Linux including a version of X Windows. The Kindle is essentially a fairly powerful little Linux box and with a little elbow grease you can train it to read almost any type of document file and even run Ubuntu on it.
