CrunchDeals: DJ Hero (Xbox 360) for $59
Posted on February 25, 2010 | No Comments
If the $120 price tag that initially accompanied DJ Hero as it made its way to market in late October of last year seemed a bit steep to you (and apparently, you weren’t alone) then you may be interested to hear that you can get the Xbox 360 bundle for $59 from JR.com.

PUMA to announce a sports-centric, solar powered cell phone next week
Posted on February 10, 2010 | No CommentsWe’ve known since around October of last year that PUMA was working on a branded phone with Sagem (the same folks who make the Porsche-branded phones) – but outside of the fact that it was in the works, there wasn’t much else known about it. PUMA just put up a teaser site for the phone, but [...] -
djay 3 gets a dedicated controller
Posted on November 15, 2009 | No Comments
Analog vs. Digital. A battle that has lasted for all time (all the time that matters anyway), and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Although a sort of armistice seems to have been called of late, with the rising trend of analog controllers for digital software. algoriddim and Vestax have combined forces to bring you just that, a hardware turntable for their iTunes DJ software, djay 3.

Oh dear: Analyst slashes DJ Hero sales expectations by 50 percent
Posted on October 26, 2009 | No CommentsInteresting note regarding DJ Hero, where “interesting” means “potentially bad news.” One of those fancy analyst types, someone at Cowen and Company, has slashed sales expectations by a little more than 50 percent. That's nothing to brush aside if you're Activision.

Numark announces NSFX for NS7 to use with ITCH by DJs. They also run out of capital letters.
Posted on October 3, 2009 | No CommentsDJs have been using double turntable setups ever since 1947 with Sir Jimmy Savile. Modern setups, however, forgo the vinyl and even CDs. One such computer-performance system is the Numark NS7 Controller for Serato’s ITCH software. The NS7 gives DJs the feel of a traditional turntable rig, while functioning as a controller for ITCH. A single [...] -

Overpay Britannia: DJ Hero for $180 in the UK, but only $120 in the U.S.
Posted on July 1, 2009 | No CommentsHow much would you be willing to pay for DJ Hero? The latest news or rumors or whatever you want to call it is that UK retailer ShopTo was apparently told by Activision that the MSRP of the game will be £107.99, or just shy of $180. That includes the turntable, of course.

DJ Hero website and pre-orders go live, Jay-Z Special Edition seen in the distance
Posted on May 30, 2009 | No CommentsWith just days to go before the gaming world goes wild at E3, the hotly anticipated DJ Hero is now spinning on its very own website. Granted, a few of the sections are still labeled as "coming soon," but we're given a few more sneak peeks at the hardware, the gameplay and even a duo of handy links to pre-order it. According to listings on both GameStop and Amazon, the software and turntable are slated to ship on October 27th, with the bundle priced at $119.99 for all four of the major consoles (yes, new games are still being made for the PS2). Better still, the latter e-tailer has the Jay-Z Special Edition Bundle listed for Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii, though neither of those are accompanied by MSRPs or expected ship dates. Oh, look, it’s the Scratch Deck: The controller for the Scratch DJ game
Posted on May 27, 2009 | No CommentsLook, I'm not even going to pretend to know anything about the current hip-hop scene, so I'll keep my opinion about Scratch: The Ultimate DJ to myself. That said, I can look at the game's controller and say, yeah, that doesn't look too shabby at all.
You're setting up for a party tonight. You've got food, girls, more food, and even Mike Chilludos coming! But what about music? No problem, just plug your laptop into some RadioShack computer speakers and hit shuffle, right?! For those of you who don't want your party to be graced with a spontaneous rendition of "Yakety Sax", Algoriddim Software has released djay 3. This DJ program integrates with your iTunes library, and automatically adds transitions and other cool DJ things to your mix.
