Xperia X10 Mini unboxed, dwarfed by its own peripherals (video)
Posted on May 18, 2010 | No CommentsSony Ericsson wasn't kidding when they called this one the Xperia X10 Mini. We must admit, it's a cute little guy -- if you'd like to see for yourself, we have the company's own unboxing video for you after the break. This is one of the very first consumer samples that's become available, and there will be some differences between what you see here and whatever lands in the UK and US, for instance. While a USB cable, charger, and stereo headset will come standard depending on market and carrier, extras -- including remote headset, powered stereo speakers, and additional back covers besides the standard black or white -- will differ accordingly. What are you waiting for? Hop past the break to see for yourself.Continue reading Xperia X10 Mini unboxed, dwarfed by its own peripherals (video)

Video: Sony’s NEX3 and NEX5 up and close
Posted on May 12, 2010 | No Comments
We've spent a couple of posts covering Sony's new flagship digi-cams NEX3 and NEX5 in the last days, but now we have a good video that not only summarizes the main features again but also shows the cameras actually being used. And you can catch a glimpse of the cool-looking HD camcorder mock-up we covered yesterday, too.

Video: Sony teases awesome-looking interchangeable lens HD camcorder
Posted on May 11, 2010 | No Comments
We were very impressed with the NEX3 and NEX5 digital cameras Sony presented yesterday for the first time. And today, the company in Tokyo announced [press release in English] a hardware prototype of a great-looking interchangeable HD camcorder. Technical details are relatively scarce at this point, but Sony says they will be using the same "Exmor" APS HD CMOS sensor the NEX3 and NEX5 will have.

Video: Sony Xperia X10 Gets Hands-On’d Again
Posted on November 16, 2009 | No Comments
Oh, you don't have a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 yet? Yeah, neither do we. But the guys over at HDBlog somehow managed to scrounge up two of the devices, and they appear to be running a newer software build than anything we've seen before.

Video: Sony Ericsson Rachel tantalizingly teased
Posted on October 30, 2009 | No Comments
With the Sony Ericsson Rachel (otherwise known as the XPERIA X3 or, more recently, the X10) having already made numerous unofficial appearances across the Interwebs, it seems like Sony Ericsson's down to show their cards a bit early - or at least the back and sides of them.

Video: Sony’s Vaio W Netbook Unveiled (O.M.G.)
Posted on July 7, 2009 | No CommentsIf today’s photos of Sony’s $500 Vaio W netbook weren’t enough to help you nap through afternoon, check out the Japanese video above demonstrating the device. Be warned: It’ll knock you out faster than washing down a sleeping pill with a bottle of Nyquil. Product Page [Sony] See Also: Sony Announces $500 Netbook, Wins ‘Race to Bottom’ Just Why [...] -
Video: Sony’s Svelte Vaio P Runs OS X
Posted on June 15, 2009 | No CommentsInstalling OS X on a commodity PC box is, to paraphrase a simian, sweating Microsoft executive, all about “drivers, drivers, drivers!” The underlying architecture of any current Intel chip is more or less the same as that of a Mac. The trick lies in getting the OS to talk to the non-standard displays, sound hardware, [...] -
Video: Sony’s PSP Go leaks out before E3, is obviously a go
Posted on May 30, 2009 | No Commentsdigg_url = 'http://digg.com/gadgets/Sony_s_PSP_Go_leaks_out_before_E3_PICS'; Look up there, folks. That's the future of Sony's hopes and dreams in the handheld gaming sector. With just hours to go before the company's official E3 2009 press event, it looks like the pieces are all coming together. First a UMD-less game release, then a highly credible mole giving the PSP Go a name, and now -- live action shots. The images here were sourced from an obviously slipped June 2009 Qore video, and aside from giving us a look at the slider-based system (which, let's be honest, looks a ton like the questionably successful mylo), we're also told that it'll tout 16GB of internal memory, built-in Bluetooth and an undisclosed memory slot. If all goes well, it'll ship this Fall for a price to be determined, and it's actually not slated to replace the PSP-3000, as both of 'em will attempt to live on store shelves harmoniously... at least for awhile. Oh, and don't worry -- we'll be on hand in LA to bring you all the impressions we can muster early next week.

Update: Video is now after the break! Thanks adizzy615!
Update 2: Official press shots have emerged. [Via Engadget Spanish]
Update 3: A few more official specifications are flowing from the full Qore video (pardon the sync issues). Here's the dirt:
- 3.8-inch display (resolution is undisclosed)
- 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000
- 16GB of Flash storage
- Bluetooth built-in; supports handset tethering and BT headsets
- No UMD drive
- Memory Stick Micro slot
- New Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet and new Metal Gear Solid (!) on the way
- Full PlayStation Network support (movie and TV rentals / purchases)
- Integration with PlayStation 3 (works the same as the PSP-3000 does)
- Sony views each of its products as "10-year lifecycle products," so the PSP "needs to live on."
