Twilight-customized LG GD510 set to Eclipse all other phones in France
Posted on June 9, 2010 | No CommentsThink Apple and Android fans are hardcore? Those guys are mere lightweights compared to Twilight fanatics, who'll soon have a phone to call their own too. Coming with eight tie-in wallpapers and that embellished back cover, this version of the GD510 -- a thoroughly unexciting featurephone with ambitions above its 3-inch, resistive touchscreen station -- has just become available over in France, for free on contracts with Orange or in exchange for €199 ($238). As a bonus temptation, LG is also throwing in a free copy of Twilight: New Moon, though we doubt anyone buying this phone will have seen that movie less than a dozen times.

Nokia N8 video overview: Symbian^3 homescreens, messaging, email, and Flash-capable browser on show
Posted on May 28, 2010 | No CommentsIt seems like the only question really left about the Nokia N8, albeit the most important one, is just how it'll interface with the user and what the experience of living with it will be like. The Nokia Conversations team is now aiming to answer just that with the first of three video walkthroughs taking us on a tour of the new device and its Symbian^3 operating environment. We now know you can have up to three homescreens with six widgets apiece, and -- gasp -- wallpapers are available right off the bat. Threaded messaging is also implemented in the new OS, as well as a soft QWERTY keyboard and a set of emoticons... yes, emoticons. Notably, the entire demo is done with the phone held in landscape, suggesting that might be the preferred method of use, while transitions between menus look as quick and pleasurable as you might expect from a promo video. T-mobile myTouch 3G Slide Specs Revealed

The specs for the upcoming T-mobile exclusive, lower-end Android device -- the myTouch 3G Slide -- have been revealed by a source with the device in their possession.
No spec sheets accompany the device, but the source was able to confirm a 600 MHz ARM processor coupled with 512MB RAM, 512MB on-board storage, a 5MP camera with LED flash, and an 8GB MicroSD card. The phone runs Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI and multi-touch support.
