Review: Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW
Posted on April 1, 2010 | No CommentsShort version: The SlingShot 202 is a strange bag. It’s not really a backpack, although you do wear it on your back, and it’s not really a messenger bag, but you do put the strap over your shoulder. It’s kind of a strange combination of both, taking the best of each and combining them into [...] -
Video: This is what Red Dead Redemption looks like
Posted on March 17, 2010 | No CommentsOh thank God for Rockstar. We’re short-staffed today, plus it’s nice outside and I’m very easily distracted by the weather, so what better way to pass the time than by watching fancy trailers? Here we have a brand new trailer for Red Dead Redemption, which I do believe a couple of the Ron and Fez [...] -
JakPak converts from jacket to emergency shelter
Posted on March 5, 2010 | No Comments
Assuming this is durable, this is just the type of emergency shelter I could see using myself. The JakPak turns from an all-weather jacket into a portable shelter by unzipping into a basic bivy sack. It's a given that it wouldn't be terribly comfortable, but in a survival situation who cares about comfort.

Turns out the Google Street View car tagged with a GPS sensor thing was a hoax
Posted on February 10, 2010 | No Comments
This makes me sad inside. Pranksters really didn't tag a Google Street View car with a GPS sensor and track it around Berlin. Nope, it was all just an Internet prank by a bunch of hipster art students. I guess this explains the non-systemic driving pattern though. Anyway, Google's statement is after the jump along with one of the videos showing the fake car in action.

Motorola Droid stands in for glamorous photo shoot
Posted on October 19, 2009 | No CommentsFiled under: Handsets, Motorola, Verizon Wireless, Android
What a difference two months make. It's was late July when we first saw a render and spy shot of Motorola's "other" Android devices, the Verizon-bound Droid, a.k.a. the Artist Formerly Known as Sholes. Boy Genius Report has been teasing the handset for the better part of the week, and now it's giving us the full monty of the hardware, including its 5 megapixel autofocus camera on the back, and various Eclair-powered screens. Boy Genius himself notes that it's the fastest Android device he's used -- thank goodness for an authentic OMAP3 -- is "slightly" thicker than an iPhone 3GS, runs that Android 2.0 we've been hearing so much about, and includes a desktop cradle that turns the Droid into a glanceable display with weather and the like (sounds like a miniature Hub in a way, doesn't it?). Anyhow, you want all to see the whole show? You know just where to click.Motorola Droid stands in for glamorous photo shoot originally appeared on Engadget Mobile on Mon, 19 Oct 2009 00:44:00 EST. Posted on September 18, 2009 | No Comments
Blizzard released some interesting information about the inner workings of World of Warcraft recently at GDC Austin. During their keynote speech, they talked about the history of the Warcraft games, and what exactly made their game so successful where others have failed. It's an interesting read overall, however what we found amazing is the actual hardware required to run the game.
