Here It Is: Google’s Kick-Ass Chrome Speed Test Video

Yesterday, we noted that with its newest release of Chrome, Google wanted to show us how fast it is rather than just tell us how fast it is. To do that, they made a Rube Goldberg-ian video showing how fast web pages load in Chrome. Yesterday, we got the making of the video. Today, we get the video itself. And yes, it’s awesome. Watch below. This is a web page loading at 2,700 frames per second. Here’s what Google says about the video:

  • SPIDERSS For Android: Browser, RSS Reader And Social Network Update Aggregator In One

SPIDERSS For Android: Browser, RSS Reader And Social Network Update Aggregator In One

Tokyo-based jig.jp has been developing mobile browsers since 2003, claiming its "jig browser (which was downloaded over 4 million times so far) is the world’s first Java-based browser that made it possible to view PC sites on cell phones. And now the company has released an ambitious Android app called SPIDERSS, which combines a browser with an RSS reader and an aggregator for social network updates. Available in English and Japanese, the free app's main selling point is that all elements are accessible from a single screen: You can either choose to directly type in a URL or search term in the top bar (to then open a full browser window), check your Facebook newsfeed and Twitter timeline in the "Application Deck" under that or scroll through your RSS feeds in the bottom part. All feeds and web pages can be easily shared by SMS, Email, Twitter or Facebook with the push of a button. Read the rest on TechCrunch.

  • Zune HD, powered by Nvidia’s Tegra

Zune HD, powered by Nvidia’s Tegra

There's a reason why the Zune HD's interface moves so smoothly. Powering the device is the Nvidia Tegra, which Nvidia recently described as an “an entire computer-on-a-chip,” and one with “eight separate processors, including: a GPU, two video processors, and audio processor, two ARM core processor and more.” (That “and more” bit is a bit ambiguous for my liking, but what are you gonna do?) In any event, the Zune HD looks to have some serious computational power going for it. WILL IT BE AN IPOD KILLER?

Japanese dude faces 2 years in prison, $96,000 fine for hosting 1,000+ Nintendo DS ROMs on Web site

Here's a tip: this isn't 1998, and you shouldn't go around making “Web pages” that are filled with Nintendo ROMs. If you do, you could end up like the Japanese guy who's now facing two years in prison and a $96,000 fine.
