When you hear "ability to see 3 time zones simultaneously" quoted as a feature on a phone, you generally don't expect two of those three to be expressed as analog Swiss movements -- unless you own Mobiado's absurd Professional 105GMT, of course, which features two old-fashioned clocks directly below the keypad. Weird, yes; excessive, most definitely, but excess is what luxury phones tend to be all about these days, and in that regard, the 105GMT definitely fits the bill. To that end, Mobiado has just introduced two new versions of the model, the Antique -- with watch faces crafted in rare Cocobolo wood -- and the Stealth, which is as "murdered out" as a phone gets (as the kids would say) thanks to gunmetal black treatment everywhere you look. Both phones are hard to find and even harder to pay for with stickers that run into the thousands of dollars, but the good news is that if you're weird enough to drop that kind of coin on a phone, we bet you probably don't care that it's only got a 2 megapixel camera.

Thanko, specialists of all things USB, brought us many good things in the past. Camera-wise, the Tokyo-based company rolled out a water-proof mini camera, a USB necktie with a built-in camera, not one but two video watches and (just recently) an HDV camera.
But these fantastic devices had one flaw: They were small, but not small enough. Reason enough for Thanko to announce the video camera button today [JP]. Needless to say the camera comes with a USB port (this is a Thanko product), 4GB of internal memory and the ability to shoot video in VGA at 15fps.

It's a tracking device that its creator says is so small it's “almost undetectable when being worn.” I could see paranoid parents putting it in their kid's pocket to make sure he doesn't wander off. For some strange reason, USB seems to stimulate the imagination of crap gadget makers. This is especially true for Japanese companies, i.e Thanko, or (in this case) Solid Alliance. The Tokyo-based company, which just last week brought us the USB Ninja Star, now sells two weird USB sticks [JP] doubling as bookmarks (for real books).
