    Verizon's latest netbook nearly completes its collection. The 10.1-inch HP Mini 210 offers the N450 1.66GHz Atom CPU along with 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. Windows 7 Starter edition powers the netbook and it can be yours for for $149 with a 2-year data contract. Of course $50 more will get a larger screen and Windows Home Premium with the HP Mini 311.

Boasting a 7-inch WVGA screen, this MID-sized device packs a 1.2GHz VIA C7-M processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, WiFi and 3G connectivity, built-in GPS, and no less than three USB ports, which will let you attach a keyboard and mouse for an authentic Windows XP experience. An Intel Atom still resides at the core, but it's the new 1.83GHz N470 model backed with the latest Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, the 3150. Along with a wide range of hard drive and OS options including Windows XP, Vista, Win 7, Linux, and FreeDOS, the updated netbook can also be configured with a mobile broadband card.

    Long time no hear from Tokyo-based USB gadget maker Thanko. The company today announced foot switch pedals [JP] for use with Windows XP, 7 or Vista machines (I am aware this isn't a world's first, but the last Thanko post was too long ago). Just assign any key on your keyboard to one of the pedals, and you won't need your fingers to press that key ever again.

Fix It tries to—wait for it—fix your PC problems before they require your to break out a sledgehammer and teach your hard drive a lesson. It's in beta right now, so feel free to give it a shot.     Buffalo announced a slew of new SSDs [JP], HDDs [JP] and NASes [JP] in Japan today, all of which might soon be available outside this country, too. Available with 32GB ($160)/64GB ($230)/128GB ($440) and 256GB ($840/build-to-order) on board, the four 2.5-inch SSDs are part of the Buffalo SHD-NSU2 series (pictured above). All of these SATA devices support Windows XP/Vista/7 andMac OS X 10.5, are equipped with 64MB of DRAM cache and come with a USB 2.0 interface.

    There is a steady stream of tablet PCs flowing out of China recently. Most of them are just the same ol' thing, but this SayCool tablet stood out from the rest with a 7-inch capacitive screen that's apparently multitouch capable. Now, the tablet runs Windows XP, which isn't nearly as touch friendly as Win7, but it certainly can be done with the right cocktail of software and hardware.
