Sony: 3D will really shine once the games start hitting it off
Posted on May 26, 2010 | No Comments"Not a fan of 3D movies? Wait till you play 3D games, that's when the technology will really shine." Not an exact quote, but that's the spirit of what Sony Computer Entertainment Europe President Andrew House said in a recent interview. The idea is that, OK, 3D movies may be just sorta there, but it's sitting there and playing something like WipeOut HD in 3D where you'll really gain an appreciation for the medium.

This is why early adopting sucks: Avatar doesn’t play on some Samsung BR players
Posted on April 23, 2010 | No CommentsThis is not for you Hey, cutting edgers! How does it feel to be the first kid on your block not to be able to play a brand new movie because of some wonky firmware issue. I have a Samsung BD-UP5000, the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray combo device that came out just as the last shots in the format [...] -
Ribcage pulled out by a bear? There’s an app for that.
Posted on September 16, 2009 | No Comments
You know, we don't often post comics on MobileCrunch. We're big web comic dorks around here - but they don't usually fall within the scope of our content. Plus, people always threaten to e-break up with us by deleting us from their feeds every time we post something wonky.
But you know what? Today's Cyanide and Happiness is just too damned perfect. The fact that we're a wee bit hung over from last night's TC50 parties has absolutely nothing* to do with us posting this. Enjoy.

The Secret of Monkey Island launches on iPhone, raids our wallet
Posted on July 23, 2009 | No CommentsLate last night and seemingly out of nowhere, the iPhone-port of The Secret of Monkey Island appeared in the App Store. Coming in at a whopping 400MB, you’re going to want to camp out next to a nice, fast WiFi hotspot if you decide to buy this - which you absolutely, positively should. We’ll admit it: [...] -
CrunchDeals: Prototype for cheap (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Posted on July 9, 2009 | No CommentsI’ve heard good things about Activision’s Prototype, but was never sent a review copy even though I’ve received other titles from the publisher for review in the past. Currently reviewing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (preview here) for the Xbox 360. Not a bad game, but I have some gripes with it. Anyway, Prototype is the [...] -
Another iPod Touch case with a hole in it UPDATE
Posted on July 6, 2009 | No Comments
So it looks like this whole "iPod Touch with Camera" thing is coming to fruition. While the first case we saw was a little wonky, this makes more sense. Take a look at the back of your iPod touch - there's a Wi-Fi antenna on the left side so the only place they could stuff a camera would be in the center, next to the antenna. I'm not sure what else is up in that spot, but the camera can't take that much space.
UPDATE - Now there's a freaking Nano case with a hole in it!
What we have here are photos of the upcoming replacement for the
