
I dream of electric sheep, or something! Here’s a charming video of a steam-powered R2D2. Too funny!
The creation of the robot is far more interesting than the robot itself. (Note: I hate all things Star Wars, so color me biased.) The artist known as Crabfu carefully, so carefully, removed the insides of a radio-controlled R2D2. In the place of all that electronic wonder he stuck a steam engine. Then he activated the steam engine, giving the little robot the divine spark it needed to whirl about.
I eagerly await the day when robots inherit the Earth. They can’t do a worse job than we have.
