Take a close look at the box on the right. It’s an Xbox 360 Arcade, but one that only mentions the Arcade and Elite models. The implication, of course, is that Microsoft is phasing out the Pro model.
See how the box on the left mentions the Pro, Arcade, and Elite model? Yeah, that’s the old box. The new box, that’s the one that only mentions the Arcade and Elite.
So don’t be surprised to see only two models sitting on your local game store shelf. Drop the price of the Elite, and you’d have partially stolen Sony’s thunder vis-à-vis the PS3 Slim, which is currently rumored to be announced at a trade show in Germany later this month.
